Gastritis is inflammation of the stomach lining, often caused by excess stomach acid, bacterial infections, or prolonged medication use. 

Types of Gastritis 

  1. Acute Gastritis – Sudden inflammation due to infections, alcohol, or NSAIDs.
  2. Chronic Gastritis – Long-term irritation leading to stomach lining damage. 
  3. Erosive Gastritis – Causes ulcers and bleeding in the stomach lining. 
  4. Autoimmune Gastritis – The immune system attacks stomach cells, reducing acid production.
